PAWS takes in over 30,000 animals a year. Yesterday alone we received 54 cats - and only had about 12 adoptions. We need to amp up our adoption rates, now! Spread the word! There are hundreds of beautiful, adoptable cats and dogs at PAWS! Here's just a sample of some of the beautiful animals who need homes. Please, cross-post this and spread the word. The animals need you!

<lj-cut text="Pictures and Descriptions of Animals Here">
Daphne is a 2-4 year old ex-momma whose kittens were all adopted without her. Now she is PAWS adoption center all by herself and is looking for a new home! She is a little shy but extremely sweet, and she does not mind being held for longer periods of time. She was in a foster home with smaller children and did wonderfully with them, and she would be fine in a home with other cats as long as they don't bully her. Don't be put-off by her funny face, give this sweet girl a chance!

So, is anyone else extremely dissapointed in Haverford for making the freshman and sophmores look at Hillary Duff every day at lunch in her Got Milk? add. Ruins my appetite.

Also, I want to invite you all to come to Upper Darby on October 23rd to watch Haverford High School's Competition Band and Color Guard. You all see us at the pep rally, but you don't actually see our show. Come out and see us perform-you won't be dissapointed. You can watch last years shows here- www.haverfordhighschool.us then go to Competition Band 2003 or you could see the past 2 shows in the Competition Band 2004 category. For those of you that don't know, for the past 2 years we are undefeated in regular season competitions and Chapter Champions. We are one of few bands to ever enter championships in the top 10 every year for the past few years. Please come out and support us, you really won't regret it. You hear us in the summer and on monday and wenesday nights, but you should really come out and see what we do. The show you see at halftime at football games are completly different, not even the same band or color guard. Just come out and cheer us on, its nice to hear HHS people when we walk on the field.

i don't actually speak like this, do i? [30 Sep 2004|11:53pm]

[ mood | dorky ]

Anyone looking for a job? Because this is my feeble attempt at pimping one out to Htown/Ardmore kids since I really don't know anyone.

It's at Ardmore Pizza. Take phone orders, mostly. It's easy, under the table, and the hours are ripe for the picking, as they say. Plus, you get to train/work with me before I go tramping across Europe in a month. And you're totally stoked to have an opportunity to spend time with the miraculous presence that is me, I'm sure.

Oh, me being Monica. Hi, I'm Monica. Leave a comment or send over an email if interested.

Hullo havertown. For those of you who attend Haverford High school and are planning a coffee house, a concert, or even a meeting that requires a PA system, my name is edwin kong. I'm the guy who has done the sound at most of the coffee houses over the past year. in case you haven't noticed, whenever there was a coffee house the event sponser had to either hope that one of the bands had a PA system that they could bring and let all the bands use. in most of these cases, the PA system the band brought was either a guitar amp with a cheap microphone plugged into it, and/or it did not have nearly enough power to fill the commons area. This left the audience with a performance which was not quite as good as what they paid to hear. starting last year, i have been renting out my services and a 3,600 watt PA system for coffee houses and musical events in the commons and the auditorium. The aforementioned 3,600 watt system can be transported to any room in the building and setup in about 45 minutes. i will setup and operate the system for the entire night for a flat rate of $50. For events that do not have rock bands such as choirs or simple hand percussion and acoustic situations and "unplugged" shows, i charge only $30 for the entire night. If you book the auditorium, i will use an 11,900 watt PA system. Unless the event is a dance recital or talent show, my rates as mentioned above still apply. Dance recitals, talent shows, ect, are $9 dollars per hour, but they will also include full use of the state of the art computer controlled lighting system. Rock shows such as coffee houses who would like special effects lighting are an additional 15 dollars. Once again, my name is edwin kong. you can contact me at violinsux@hotmail.com, and i thank you for hopefully reading this.

The Move [28 Aug 2004|12:07pm]

[ mood | Spazzing and limited ]

Who wants to come help the Dorfman family move? Anytime today, tomorrow, or Monday (some moving and clean up crew on Mon). We will feed you! Not to mention you'd have my heartfelt gratitude and that of my family. This is a serious inquiry. We have to get out of here and I'm exhausted, and my parents are too old to be doing this. Any help, even for half an hour, would be greatly appreciated.

Can call me at 610-446-5558.

So by now, I'm sure almost everyone here knows about Brendan being in the olympics and his silver medal so far, but I was dicking around on livejournal and found this

Brendan Hansen is love

isn't that strange to look at?! I dunno, maybe just for me, but he's from Havertown-it's just wierd. Also, if you by chance watched his race when he got silver, and that asshole Japanese guy got gold while screaming-almost mocking Brendan-you probably didn't notice one big mistake the Japanese swimmer made but he is being challanged by Brendan's team mates for it.

What he did was he did a dolphin kick which is illegal to do in the breast stroke race. The whole article is here http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5714746/ but I just wonder what they are gunna do about it...

Mr. Stewart's mom had been sick for a long time; she passed away on August 11th.

Her funeral mass, at 10 AM, follows a 9 AM viewing to be held at St. Dorothy's Church in Drexel Hill (the corner of US Rt 1 and Burmont Road).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Augustinian Scholarship, 418 Warren Ave., Malvern PA 19355 or The Wellness Community of Phila., Suzanne Morgan Center at Ridgeland, Chamounix Dr., West Fairmount Park, Phila., PA 19131.

For those who went to Manoa, this is Miss Stewart/Mrs. Lynch's mom, also (as her and Mr. Stewart are siblings).

Tomorrow I leave for Cornell (preventing me from attending the aforementioned events).
Peace, Havertown.

Htown Survey!! [09 Aug 2004|08:25pm]

You know how sometimes you listen to a song and you think..."wow this song is the epitome of this very moment"? What song would you deem THE SONG of Summer 2004?

I vote that song by the black eyed peas "get it started" (yes the clean version!)
